Rocking Horse Center - Phase 1 & 2

Springfield, OH

2004

Opened in 1999, at a cost of $930,000, this 7,500 square foot structure provides pediatric care and family counseling for all people regardless of ability to pay. This project is a collaboration of Mercy Medical Center and Community Hospital and is the catalyst for improving a blighted area of Springfield. The design emphasis was to reinforce a very attractive Victorian neighborhood of two-story brick homes and preserve the streetscape along Limestone Street, one of Springfield’s major thoroughfares.

The facility has grown dramatically as a pediatrics service provider. In 2004 McCall Sharp Architecture doubled the size of the facility to allow for expansion of the pediatrics unit, family therapy unit and additional physicians for each component.
