Oesterlen Intensive Treatment Unit

McCall Sharp Architecture completed this $2.5 million project in September, 2006. The Intensive Treatment Unit is a secure 12,317 square foot institutional residential building to house 20 male and female youth. The renovation of the 36,400 square foot Stevens Learning Center is for education, athletics and counseling for inpatient and outpatient services.

Oesterlen offers a continuum of residential and community services for youth. The intensive treatment unit is two wings with four bedroom pods of five individual bedrooms each. Each wing has a living room, hobby room, recreation room, staff offices, time-out room and a chapel/family room. The dining room is a shared space overlooking the grounds. The hallmark of the design are the windows with views of the property and interior skylights. The Stevens Learning Center was renovated to provide a secure building with new room configurations and a bright new appearance. Stevens Learning Center houses classrooms. reception, counseling offices, a full size gymnasium, fitness center and indoor swimming pool.
